We operate at 2 farms; one in Pretoria (Gauteng) and the other near Bela-Bela (Limpopo).
Our passion is to empower under-privileged rural communities, by enabling sustainable egg-producing enterprises and co-operatives for employment creation and food security.
We are a 100% black-owned poultry farming business focused on producing and selling point-of-lay pullets (hens). We raise the pullets from day-old chicks until they are ready to lay (18 weeks) to supply the egg-producing enterprises, individual farmers, and government-enabled egg-producing projects.
While we sell our hens to egg-producing enterprises/farmers; we focus on, and enable egg-producing enterprises or co-operatives in the rural areas, including government enabled rural enterprises, mainly focused on women and the youth.
Da Chicken Shack cc (trading as Jeff’s Chicken Shack) was founded in early 2009 by Jeff Chisiya Dube, and started operations in the Thabazimbi municipal area (near Bela-Bela), in the Waterberg district of the Limpopo province. The Limpopo operations supply Limpopo, parts of North West, and parts of Mpumalanga.
In 2013, we set up the Gauteng operations at Elandsfontein Agricultural Holdings in Pretoria. The Gauteng operations supply North West, parts of Mpumalanga, northern Free State and kwa-Zulu-Natal.
